The Street Market in Hinterglemm

Fine regional products for young and old

From the end of June to the beginning of September, the centre of Hinterglemm is transformed every Monday* into the venue for the Hinterglemmer Street Market. Regional exhibitors present homemade specialities and traditional handicrafts, atmospheric bands accompany the evening musically and there's plenty to do for the kids. A stroll on a warm summer evening is well worth it - late-night shopping included!

Seasonal delicacies and traditional crafts from local exhibitors

Honey and honey products, homemade bacon, alpine cheese, herbal products and much more are lined up at the sales and tasting stands. The regional producers attach great importance to the highest quality in all areas and so the bacon comes from the Glemmer butcher, who buys cattle, pigs and sheep from local mountain farmers and expertly processes the meat into typical Austrian delicacies. Spicy cheese produced on the farm's own Alp is enjoyed by visitors of all ages. The honey from the local beekeepers' family adds sweetness to many breakfasts, and the healthy honey and herb products are perfect souvenirs and holiday keepsakes.

In addition to food producers, artists show their work. Individual one-of-a-kind pieces and lovely decorative items are finely handcrafted. The products, as well as the diverse assortment of selected shops, can be purchased during the late-night shopping.

If you're hungry, you've come to the right place at the Street Market - the restaurants offer delicious Alpine, national and international cuisine and invite you to enjoy the evening with cosy indoor and outdoor seating as well as the "Schmankerl" stalls.

Music for atmospheric and fun hours

Traditional music groups such as the Heimatgruppe Viehhofen provide the perfect atmosphere. Musicians delight with varied interludes and traditional instruments. The "Zugin", as the harmonica is called in the Alpine region, guitars and brass instruments are used.

Alongside the folk music groups, modern live bands perform their genre-spanning repertoire along the main village street. The open-air concerts create the ideal setting for cosy evenings.

Family fun at the Gasslfest

In addition to the various stalls, there is a colourful area for the younger visitors. Face painting, playing together, romping and having fun - when the kids are busy and experiencing new adventures, parents can also enjoy a relaxing time.

On top of the family activities on offer at the Street Market, the Hinterglemm Family Park is located in the immediate vicinity of the village centre. The lovingly landscaped area next to the mini golf course offers a Kneipp and water play area, a children's car racetrack, slides, climbing towers, swings and much more.

See for yourself. Have fun!
