Midsummer bonfire at the Westgipfel

When the longest day meets the shortest night, summer is welcomed in the Alps in a truly special way.

On the occasion of the summer solstice on Saturday, June 20, 2026, numerous mountain fires will be lit. One of the most stunning views can be enjoyed from the West Summit in Hinterglemm at an altitude of 2,096 meters.

For those looking to indulge in culinary delights, the Westgipfelhütte, located right next to the mountain station, will be open.

Operating times for the Westgipfelbahn:

• Regular operation: 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM
  Prices according to the Experience Map & price boards

• Special evening ride: 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  WanderCard, Bike Tickets and JOKER CARD are not valid for the special evening ride. No bike transport available.
  Year tickets, Season tickets and HoL-TEAM Cards are valid for the special evening ride!)

In case of bad weather, the solstice fires will not take place!
