Avalanche course Skitouring - Ortovox Safety Academy

Want to deepen your avalanche safety knowledge and improve the way you plan your ski tours? During this 2.5-day ORTOVOX Safety Academy avalanche course, you’ll learn alongside the certified mountain and ski guides from MT Experts how to assess avalanche risk, terrain and current conditions, and make well-informed decisions when ski touring.

The course combines theory, practical avalanche rescue training and intensive hands-on instruction in the mountains. The programme is adapted to the participants’ skill levels as well as the current snow, weather and avalanche conditions.

The price includes a certified mountain and ski guide, full course organisation, theoretical and practical training, as well as avalanche rescue training. Subject to availability, the latest ORTOVOX avalanche safety equipment can be used free of charge.

The course is suitable for ski tourers with some initial experience as well as more advanced participants. The aim is to learn how to combine different sources of information – from the avalanche forecast and snowpack conditions to terrain assessment and evaluating individual slopes – and use them to make sound, well-informed decisions when planning and undertaking your own ski tours.
