Tour de Champions - Alpine Ski World Championships Saalbach

27.1 km tour with over 1,000 m of climbing, steep ascents to Zwölferkogel, alpine views and World Championship flair around Saalbach.

At first glance, this 27.1 km tour around Saalbach-Hinterglemm may seem moderate, but with around 1,020 meters of elevation gain, it is still quite demanding. The climb up to the Zwölferkogel gets you up to operating temperature right from the start – no real warm-up, but an immediate focus on rhythm and energy management. As you gain altitude, the route becomes noticeably quieter and more open. The landscape around Saalbach-Hinterglemm reveals wide alpine scenery with beautiful views throughout the tour. Short moments to catch your breath appear again and again before the constant ups and downs continue. Technically, the route remains mostly rideable, but it still requires solid fitness and endurance for the longer climb. Once at the top, the route follows the same trail back down to the Zwölferkogel World Championship Stadium. From there, the tour continues further down the valley to the Kohlmais World Championship Stadium from 1991 before returning to the starting point.
