RETRO SKI DAY – 80 YEARS OF THE SAALBACH LIFT COMPANY
On February 17th 1946, the first ski lift in Saalbach went into operation with the Kohlmais Summit Lift – a drag lift. What began back then as a pioneering achievement is today one of the most famous winter sports destinations in the world.
To celebrate this special anniversary – 80 years of the Saalbach Lift Company – Saalbach would like to invite all guests, locals, and ski enthusiasts to a Retro Ski Day on Carnival Tuesday, February 17th 2026.
EVERYONE IN RETRO OUTFIT RECEIVES:
- A FREE WHITE SAUSAGE BREAKFAST
from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Kohlmais valley station
- A SEASON PASS RAFFLE
from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.- Pick up a stamp card at breakfast
- Get it stamped at 4 mountain stations
- Drop the completed card into the raffle box at the Kohlmais valley station
A valid ski pass is required.
